Hotel Pod Zvičinou
Not far from Dvůr Králové nad Labem (with the Safari park), on the hillside of the Zvičina mountain (671 m above sea level), near to the forest, you will find a pleasant family hotel which offers various activities and forms of accommodation. Thanks to its unique location, all visitors and guests can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Giant (Krkonoše) Mountains right from the hotel terrace. The history of the hotel
The first mention of the hotel dates back to the end of the 19th century. This place was known as an air-spa (hence the name still used today – Spa under Zvičina). The hotel was built near a pure water spring – the Mary’s Source, which, as legend has it, has healing effects for human ailments. This spring water is still the main source of drinking water for the hotel.
Relax and adventure
You will find entertainment in the hotel area and the region for both summer and winter months. A friendly family atmosphere, its location in the middle of nature and a number of available activities make the hotel an ideal place for families with children, school trips or corporate team-building events. ENTERTAINMENT FOR KIDS. In the vicinity of the hotel there are 3 fun educational trails for children for different age categories. A novelty is a forest trail with interactive elements and boards. Diverse game elements (chute, sandbox, climbing frames, …) are placed throughout the hotel area. In case of rainy weather, there is also an indoor playground. In our minifarm, children can observe the life of common farm animals such as sheep, goats, geese, ponies and donkeys.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES. In the summer months, you will appreciate a natural swimming pool near the forest, which is complemented by a children’s pool with salt water. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a trip on a bike or canoe – you can borrow them or take part in an organized tour. Other sports facilities in the hotel area include: a tennis court, a ping pong table, a grassy playing field (for volleyball or badminton) and garden chess and checkers on the hotel terrace.
WINTER ACTIVITIES. We are also well equipped for winter. If the snow conditions allow, you can go almost from the hotel’s door onto our ski slope with ski lift (suitable for beginners). At certain times and for larger groups we provide ski instructor services. For the cross-country skiers there are tracks around Zvičina. If you don’t have the equipment, we will be happy to rent it to you. If you want relax in the winter evenings, you can use the outdoor wooden bathing casks HOT-TUB.
TRADITIONAL EVENTS. All through the year we continuously arrange events of various types. We can offer you the “Live Nativity Scene“. This is a traditional event, which takes place during the Christmas holidays.
FOR COMPANIES. If you plan to organize team-building, all the above-mentioned activities can be tailored to your business needs. Bike and canoe trips are especially popular.
Social events and corporate trainings
We have a modern conference hall, which is located in parts of the former colonnade connecting the main and side buildings and offers sufficient capacity (up to 150 seats) for organizing social events, weddings, celebrations, seminars or training sessions. For these occasions, the hotel’s restaurant and its two lounges can also be used. When organizing larger events, we will gladly prepare a complete menu according to your wishes.
